According to Michael Arrington, Yahoo Photos will be shut down to favour Flickr - a competing photo sharing service acquired by Yahoo back in 2005 due to increasing popularity of more socialized flickr than Yahoo Photos.
Although Yahoo Photos has nearly 2 billion photos compared to 500 million of flickr, yet the traffic for flickr is more than Yahoo Photos.
Yahoo Photos users will be given an option to transfer their photos to flickr through a one click process or they can transfer their photos to other services like photobucket.
Video Sharing facility will soon be available on flickr as told by Stewart Butterfield, co founder of Flickr.
