$10 Laptops may become Reality in India

India's Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD)'s idea to make laptops at $10 is gaining shape with two designs already in and public sector undertaking Semiconductor Complex taking keen interest to be part of the project.

As the cost is concerned, one laptop costs $47 but ministry feels that considering the demand for one million laptops, price will come down dramatically.

India was a potential market for Negroponte's $100 laptop, but it was rejected by the market.
